    Shaving pubic area
A pimple has arrived... Its been there for ages is this normal?
Could it be an STI as I am sexually active.
    Is it herpes?

It could be anything. We can't diagnose on the internet.

But, seeing as your title is "shaving pubic area", it's most likely an ingrown hair. They happen, especially if you're shaving that region.

You will need to see a doctor to have it taken care of. Do not try to pop it or pull out the ingrown hair yourself, that can lead to infection, and worse problems than you have now.

Actually, it's very common. Happens all the time. Believe it or not, I had an ingrown hair on my breast. I am female, I don't have a hairy chest, but sure enough, I woke up one morning with a huge painful lump on my chest. I immediately thought the worst, went to see my doctor, and found out it was an ingrown hair. We all have hair all over our bodies, even if it's not visible.

He gave me a local, cut open the lump, pulled out the hair and sent me home. Easy as pie. But I do have a scar. :(

I get ingrown hairs in my pubic region all the time, due to shaving.

If it is an ingrown hair the pimple will stay, and get worse and worse, until the hair is removed. Only a doctor can effectively remove the hair. So, until you get it taken care of, you'll have the pimple.

Depends on how long this has been ingrown. At first it starts looking like a pimple. Then it gets infected, and inflamed, that's when it becomes painful.

It could just be a regular pimple. Like I said, I can only guess.

It could be a STD since you are having sex, infection, ingrown hair or just a pimple
