I recently met a man who I am starting to date... right off the bat he told me that he doesn't want a girlfriend... what do I do?

If you are looking for a relationship he isn't the person for you. You need to look elsewhere. This fellow has issues and you can't change his past.

Yeah... he wants to hang out and listen to music and stuff... but isn't looking for a girlfriend... he isn't in a place in his life for one... just wasting my time... I guess

You can't make him want a girlfriend, so why not be good friends with him?
Before you'll know it, he'll probably change he's mind and he'll want a girlfriend just like you!

But if you want a boyfriend right now, you're probably wasting your time with him...

You are not wasting your time if you can keep a friend. You are wasting both his and your time if you want him for the boyfriend and he has clearly told you that he is not going there. I would prefer a good friend than a lousy boyfriend anyday.

Does he say he wants a long term companionship? If he does mention he doesn't mind long term relationship that would end up in spending rest of your life together than you may have a chance, but if he constantly tells you he doesn't want anything long term, than you are just being used.
