My area down there had been itching. It happens a few times before but it was never as long as the period. It started a day before I got my period and up until now, which is 6 days after the period. I think my period is almost finished. There's no discharge or any other unusual situation. Also, I had sex 2 weeks before my period but we used condoms. I'm really afraid it has something to do with the itching. Please kindly help.

You can say 'vagina'. It makes it perfectly clear which area of the body you are discussing.

Vaginal itching has many causes, a whole grab bag:

Chemical irritants such as detergents, fabric softeners, feminine sprays, ointments, creams, douches, and contraceptive foams or jellies. Menopause. A drop in the hormone estrogen causes vaginal dryness. Stress may increase vaginal itching and make you more susceptible to infections; Vaginal yeast infection; Vaginitis (bacteria)

As for douching, never ever douche with anything as this destroys the Ph balance of your vaginal wall allowing bacteria to enter and cause problems such as yeast infections.

See your doctor. If you scratch that itch, you may start something going you don't want.

Thank you. But I'm only 19 and I have never used any kind of creams or douches. I mostly try not to scratch it. I only scratch it when it is starting to get really itchy, otherwise I don't cause I'm afraid it might make it worse.
