    Inheritance law in Louisiana
My mother has four children. In her will she left her home and property to one child. Can she disinherit the other three?

Yes. Most definitely. Louisiana was under Napoleanic law at one time. Somewhere around the late 90's the law was changed. Consequently my greedy sister who had never been anywhere in sight for many years chummed up with my dad at the end and got the entire inheritance willed to her. Whichof course was her intent and was the only reason she had anything to do with my dad. You have 8 days I believe to dispute the will andit will freeze the assets. After that you will have to sue. If your father was I the picture you may be due something from him. We sued and she was at least forced to give us the small portion due to us through our mother. I did not want to sue my own sister and accepted it at the time. Now I regret I didn't speak up because we think she may have falsified some documents now. You only have 2 years to sue. Make sure you have a good lawyer.
