My Honda CR-v CAR of 1997 seems to consume high amount of fuel per km than the recommended rate .it rate now is 7km per one liter . What is wrong and how to correct it?

. Replace the spark plugs (NGK only), if they have not been changed in 3 years.

. Replace the air filter, if it has not been changed in 25,000 miles.

. Check/replace the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor.

. Check for codes.

. Use 5W-30 full synthetic engine oil (e.g. Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Platinum).

. Check tire pressure.
