Can I or should I use copper water pipe if I have a water softner?
I've been told that the conditioned water will take the minerals from the copper pipe resulting in leaks eventually.
Is this true ?
This is new construction.
Thanks

No plumber would tell you that nor will I. However cooper is no longer state of the art for new or remodel work. Plumbing Pipe Basics
Good point ma
And I think the plumber was trying to scare you into giving him the job. My company has put in hundreds of units piped with copper with no complaints.Quote:

I think he was actually trying to 'save' me. I was planning on doing it myself.
However, Just like galvanized has been replaced with copper. Copper has been replaced with plastic. Good luck, Tom
I ended up hiring a different plumber and we agreed on PEX.
Thank you all for input.
Tom
And we thank you for the update, Tom
