What are some ways to get my marks up for next year?
I'm determined to go to university to be a teacher. The university that I have been looking into has a minimum adveredge of 70%, and my marks are around there. I want to get a lot better marks next year. Some classes I just am not good at though, so if get some adveredge marks in those, I'm fine with it. The point is, I really want to get my marks up to 80's and 90's. I really want to know some ways to study hard, and get those grades I really want.
(ps, I just finished grade nine so its not too late at all)

    Quick response please :)

Quick response, please? We're all volunteers here. We answer as quickly as we can.

For beginners work on your spelling - it's average, not adveredge.

I'm amazed that any college is taking applicants with grade averages in the 70's. Not in New York!

How to get your grades up? Pay closer attention, do extra projects, study hard.

    There's no magic formula.

Instead of ignoring your post, id like to reply.
Well, obviously university is very competitive and the average minimum is 70% , so I doubt anyone would get in if their marks were at a 70% (thats why I'm going for an 80% or 90%).my question was, what are some ways to get my marks up. So what I'm going to is find somewhere else to get some tips.

    Thanks for the effort :)

You might want to consider community college. That way you can take core courses and get them out of your way at an affordable price, live at home to save money on R&B, get your feet wet with college life, and then transfer to a four-year college for your last two years.

As for now, whenever appropriate, make flashcards that you add to with each class and flip through each day.

Study, especially for tests and exams, with at least one other person in the same class.

I'm thinking two or three hours of work every night, sounds good?

Sounds good, but have a plan and stick to it each evening. Also, every 45 minutes or so, take a short break to get a snack, do some stretching, talk to someone for a very short time, and get your mind off schoolwork for about ten minutes.

Or decide if you work better in long stretches (I do) and then don't take a break until you are finished for the evening.

Also, when given a paper to do, don't wait until the last minute, but do bits and pieces of it every day/evening.

You sound like you want to improve your grades and I am very excited you want to become a teacher! How can you improve your grades? It starts with studying every night, even when you don't have a test coming up. Find classmates to study with and ask your teachers for help with anything you don't understand. We are here to create successful students and we want to know when you don't understand. Also, take time to check your spelling before turning in any projects. That, and always turning in your work on time is necessary. May I ask why your grades are just average in some areas? Did you ask for help last year?

My average with all my classes added up for last year was a 71%. Some classes I did get low marks though (mid 60's, high 60's etc.) and others in the 80's. So they balanced out to an average. Last year, I would study, and occasionally get help. So I know I can improve. :)

As for getting into university, I'm not worried about much besides the work and my grades. Last year, I completed 212 hours, extra credits in band & choir, and right now I'm in summer school to get my math up to an academic level. (I took applied and found it too easy)

Next year, I am determined to get those marks.

I think a plan to do two to three hours of homework a night is impractical if you are also involved in volleyball (your other thread), bank and choir. Set a realistic schedule you can actually follow and stick to it, otherwise you will get discouraged and fall back into old habits.

I honestly don't know - extra credits for band and choir are figured into your average?

I think I am going to quit volleyball this year, to focus on my studies. And no, I didn't put the extra credits into my average. :)
