I replaced the flush valve seal on our Mansfield toilet, but when I turned the water back on it doesn't fill the tank. About 2 inches of water comes in from the bottom left side of that tall column but water does not come in through the hose that goes into the flush valve. What should I check for next to repair?

Sounds like you disturbed some minerals built up in the pipe walls and it's now clogging your ballcock. What ballcock do you have? Is it a float ball or a can on a wire? Back to you. Tom

It's a float ball. I did see some white mineral deposits on the valve seal when I removed it. What next?

Shut the water off at the stop, open the lid and unscrew the three top screws. Pull the float ball, stem and washer out. Now place a pan over the open ballcock and turn the water back on to flush out the supply. You should have a strong stream, if not then tell me about it. Reassemble and test. Better now? There aren't three screws at the top, only one. I unscrewed this but the float ball did not come off. The water is now filling the tank. I just flushed the toilet a few times and then the water started coming in through the little white hose. (The screw on the top of the left side column controls how strong the water flow is out of the hose). However, now there seems to be water seeping into the toilet bowl. The tank level isn't dropping, but there are some bubbles coming out of the bottom of the column in the tank on the left side. (See photo).

Yep, looks like a standard Mansfield. Pretty common to see bubbles depending on what is done with the water system supply. I believe the white serated ring unscrews. Are you sure you got the bottom seal on properly, sometimes they cock and don't seal properly. These are usually trouble free toilets.

All good answer but for $10 I'd swap it out, time is money too.
