I am sixteen years old and 4 months pregnant.
Well my ex boyfriend and his family keep telling me that they are going to take me to court and get full custody of my child. My family has decided to move to L.A which is just 4 hours away from my ex but they want to argue about that and take it to court . I want to get full custody of my baby right after the baby's born. Does he have any chances in taking my baby away from me? Im really worried.

The only way they can take the baby from you is if they prove you seriously unfit.
Being a teen mother does not automatically make you unfit.

Get your ducks in a row. Finish high school. Get a job. And get self sufficient as soon as you can. There are many resources out there for single mothers. The department of children and families, planned parenthood, and free clinics are excellent places to start finding help and support.

Also, find yourself a good support system around you. Your family, your friends, your school Councillor can help you find great resources as well.

More than likely his family is just reacting to the pregnancy. It's a bad reaction. But it happens. That quick, knee jerk, gut reaction that most of us regret in the end. And his parents may be trying to save him from the inevitable child support he will be required to pay. Unless you stay together if you love each other, and work something out to be together as a family.

I wasn't going to take him to child support because we made an agreement if he gave me some kind of money for the baby. But that's when they all started telling me "ill see you at court" & that " i just started a war" and let me mind you that me and him haven't talked . And he hasn't came to any of my doctor appointments.. he hasn't even gotten ahold of me since we tolled him that I'm moving

I agree! Start calling the school district where you are moving and explain that you are pregnant. Most districts here in CA have special classes for teen moms that keep you out of the regular schools so you can finish. Most include parenting classes and child care. They may be able to help you by giving you information on legal issues, too.

The probability that he can get full custody is small, but it exists. If his family gets a good lawyer and you don't have one, then their chances are increased. The fact that you are moving 4 hours away doesn't help.

But while its not a slam dunk, it is hard to get custody away from the mother. However, they can get generous visitation. So they can get the child on summers, school holidays etc.

    How old is the father?
