    my dog twitches A LOT in her sleep!
    I have a 3-year old border collie, and WHENEVER she sleeps on my bed she starts to fall to a deep sleep, I know its just when she is dreaming but her paws start to shake a lot, and then her breathing gets really heavy and fast, like she is trying to pant. Then her whole body starts to do really hard twitches. A couple of nights ago, she was doing this, so I started to wake her up, she usually does when I talk to her but she didn't, I started trying to shake her awake but she wouldn't for about 30 seconds (as you know this scared the HELL outa me... ) she has perfect health, her diet is good, she gets lots of exercise, and it doesn't seem to harm her, but I'm very worried! (its worse when she has night mares and she's crying and whimpering) :{

    Yes, my dog Brook does the same thing; deep sleep and dreaming. She is hard to wake, but I find if I just touch her she stops the running, jumping and chasing dream.

    Border Collies are working dogs, so I imagine their dreams would be really something, herding sheep and other dogs and people is hard work in your dreams.

    I don't think you have to worry; if they weren't like this, then we worry.
