    Collection agency
Can a collection agency collect a pharmacy bill from the proceeds of the sale of my fathers house if no lien was filed?

Do you mean can they take from the cash proceeds?

Yes, they can if they have a judgment against your father. They can move against any of his assets (in most States), including the proceeds of sale of his house.

A lien is simply an encumbrance registered against a property that prevents its sale until the lien is satisfied.

If your father owes the bill and a judgment was obtained they can get a writ of execution to attach their share of the proceeds of the sale.

If they have a judgement, yes they can.

Also is your father alive or dead ? If he is dead and this is going though the estate, you are required to pay all debts from the money that comes in.
