    Honda Ridgeline compresser
2006 Honda Ridgeline. AC compressor clutch not engaging. Voltage at the compressor is present when AC switch is selected on. I tested this with test light. Also ground wire at AC compressor connector tested good. Static pressure of refrigerant was good. It was about 1.2 times the outside temperature. Question is, why isn't the clutch engaging? I will admit, I didn't test the amount of volts, it just lit up the test light pretty good. I assume the clutch/compressor is bad since it is getting voltage and not engaging. Maybe it is not getting the correct amps.

Compressor clutch may have failed. You will have to bring the vehicle to a shop where they can recover the refrigerant, remove the compressor assembly and then either replace the compressor & clutch as an assembly, or simply replace the failed clutch/ field coil/ bearing.
