    I had my esa benefit reduced while I went to a medical which I am appealing and this is going to a tribunal hearing in sept this morning I received a envelope from h.m courts and tribunal service in which contained a letter addressed to me along with four other peoples medical reports n.I numbers addresses tribunal decisions etc and I feel could this be mixed up with some of my medical reports breaching the data protection act as the same applies to these other four people I want to contact a newspaper re this story where would I stand or what action could be taken against me if I do also is this the best course of action to be taken I just feel this has been a breach of security allowing these other peoples details and has the same happened to me please advise

    You could contact a newspaper. I don't see that you would be liable to the agency that mailed it, should you do so.

    But I suggest that the better course of action would be for you to contact the agency directly, arrange to return the documents which aren't yours, and demand that they do what needs to be done to insure that this doesn't happen again. Only if they show no interest in cleaning up their procedures, would I suggest that you report the matter to the media.
