I have a Craftsman 917.255913 18HP Garden Tractor. I went to start it this morning and nothing happens. Literally when you turn the key nothing. Not even a click. I checked the battery, fully charged. I put a jumper between the two large terminals on the solenoid and it fired right up. I thought maybe a safety switch so I jostled everything around. I dropped the deck and raised it again and it actually started. So I thought maybe the safety switch on the deck but I can't get it to start no matter how much I mess with the deck. Any suggestions? Wondering if a wire is just loose but it would help if I knew where the safety switch on this mower was.
