    Bad smell in house
We have a sewage-like stinky smell that seems to come and go and we believe is coming from a bathroom in our home. We have a septic tank but it has been recently cleaned out. Our plumber can't locate a problem. We're not sure exactly where it's coming from and have no idea what it is. We also don't know why some days you can't smell it at all and some days the stench is horrible. Any ideas? All help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

You may have a crack or loose connection in one of your taps in the bathroom. Traps are designed to hold water that makes a seal so sewer gasses don't creap in the house. Or your vent that gose through your roof may be plugged, that will cause syphoning of trap and not hold a seal.
