My water heater is leaking form the bottom... I'm assuming the tank inside is cracked somehow. Can it be replaced or do I need a whole new water heater ?

The water heater needs to be replaced.
The tank is the main component. A new heater has a new tank, thermostats, wiring, insulation and safety valves. Unless you have some very particular installation problems, you should br able yo get a new heater installed for $800-1000.
The heater needs to be replaced. If it is leaking it is possible that some of the electric components have been damaged.
If u are handy with plumbing u can do it yourself.
Good luck

Hi Dave
Don't jump to conclusions too quickly... ;)
Shut off the electricity to the heater and then remove the panel doors on the front of the water heater. Remove the insulation and plastic cover tabs and double check that your leak isn't coming from the element tappings. If that is all clear, double check the pipe tappings at the top of the heater... make sure this isn't a simple issue first!
If all these tappings check out then yeah, the water heater is shot and will need to be replaced as everyone suggested, OK?
Good luck!
