Can I drain shower in old iron floor drain
Was wanting to frame in a small shower in basement. I was planning on just building a platform for it underneath for the drain. I have an old cast iron crock that has always been used for the washing machine drain as long as I can remember. My question is, can I just run my shower drain to dump into the crock? The washing machine dumps pretty quick into no problem and I can't image a shower draining any faster.

    Hi Whoknows0714

You are asking if you can indirectly drain your shower into your floor drain, and in some areas, as long as the floor drain is properly trapped and vented then yeah, you can do what you propose.

More questions? Let me know, OK?
