I have a two year old son and we went on vacation to va beach. We got home and his face broke out with red tiny bumps and now his left eye is swollen and right looks like it may. I found some stuff about swimmers itch and sunburn but not sure what to do. He is acting perfectly fine just itching his rash. Should I take him to the doctor or what?

Itchy red bumps on the skin usually appear either as a single red bumpy rash on the face and other areas, or as a cluster of raised red bumps, that can eventually spread to the entire body. Sometimes, these skin bumps can also enlarge and create red and large swollen patches on the skin. Numerous factors ranging from insect bites and allergies to skin diseases like eczema, psoriasis, and scabies can be responsible for causing skin rashes and itchy red bumps. So it can be quite difficult at times to diagnose this skin condition. One of the most common causes for sudden development of raised red bumps on skin is an allergy. It seems like it is an allergy since he is so young its likely he had a reaction to something he's never come across. I highly recommend seeing a doctor.
