I have just removed a stand up shower stall from my bathroom in the basement. Of course, underneath was the concrete slab and the drain pipe. Is there an easy way to cap the drain pipe to make it level with the concrete slab in order to lay tiles over it? If I cut the ABS piping I could make it flush with the concrete floor, but then I need to place a cap over it. As it is right now, there is concrete all around the ABS drain pipe and I'm trying to get out of chipping around the existing drain pipe to cap it.

Yes Paul there is. Cut the ABS raiser off level with the cement and go to a plumbing shop and purchase a plastic test cap in the same size as the ABS raiser. While a "hard cap" fits over the pipe and requires the pipe to extend up a few inches or chipping around the cement, a test cap glues to the inside lip of the pipe. A hard cap would be preferable but to cap it off the easy way use a test cap. Hope this helps and happy new year to you and yours. Tom
