I am dating and very close to my new boyfriend. Our relationship is great on every level. His former girlfriend is described as bipolar and was a addictive or codependent relationship. He is in counseling, trying to move past this relationship and has told me there was never a relationship with her she just plays mind games with him. She will occasionally email him a I love you and pull him down into a funk. We talk about this and everything else.

Is this a rebound relationship for him. Or is our relationship real? I do love him but is this harmful to me?
