    sir,
    I was told that frequency is a characteristic of wave.Recently I was thought "planck's quantumn theory" in which it was given that radiant energy is emitted or absorbed in the form of photons which act as a particle.I was also told that energy of each photon is equal to -
    E=hv.
    where h=planck's quantum & v=frequency.
    now I am having a doubt that if frequency is a characteristics of wave then how it can tell the energy of a photon as photon is a particle.so how can we relate a property of wave to particle?please clear my doubt as soon as possible.

    Good question. Actually Planck suggested that the emission and absorption of light is in the form of photons but it propagates in the form of waves.

    However, according to modern concept, the photon has dual nature i.e. both particle as well as wave nature.
