So I've always had irregular period I'm 18 and I take thyroid medicine for my thyroid and they said it could tend to mess it up I guess and I had my period three times this month and recently I've been sexually active and I had my period the 2nd time a week and half ago and then my period stopped.. so I had sex and it was unprotected but he pulled out before anything happened , and 2 or 3 days after I got my period again! And I still have my period and its been probably the 9th or 10th day and now its light but brown its longer than the last two times, I'm not on birth control but I def will be as of tomorrow I'm seeing a gynecologist tomorrow but I need some advice right now? PLEASE HELP IM REALLY WORRIED!! :/

Technically its not the medication directly affecting your period, it's the fact that your meds are affecting your thyroid, your thyroid controls your hormones and metabolism, and that is what controls your period. (I know this because I am very over weight and have a crappy hormones and metabolism, which is why my periods are irregular)

I would talk to your doctor about possibly adding a lo dose of birth control to help regulate you, (if you go to a clinic, make sure they KNOW you are on thyroid meds and which ones and the does)

And also see your doctor to make sure your medication doesn't need adjusting.

I had a period at the beginning of the month when I came off I had sex with my boyfriend I then came back on, this is a week later I was on for five days then came back off I had sex with my boyfriend again I then came back on and this is all in the same month I am still on now what does it mean?
