    Shower drain
    I am putting a new drain in shower pan... it is pvc and drain pipe is pvc... do I glue the drain to the pipe or just press on with a tight fit?

    Plumbers Putty... look it up. Glue is the last thing you want.

    Hmmmm... not real clear on exactly what you are asking here, Jimmy?

    Smoothy thinks you are asking about what to install under the flange of the shower drain, and yup, that could be plumber's putty (or silicone caulk).

    I'm thinkin' you want he to know if you should "glue" the new drain onto the existing pipe or just dry fit it ("press it on")? If this is your issue then you would use a PVC primer and PVC cement to join the shower drain to the existing pipe.

    Can't afford mistakes here, so let us know more, OK?
