Not necessarily. The length of your hair should not be a factor but the growth rate could be. In addition, marijuana users always have about a 40% chance of non-detection due to the properties of THC-COOH* that doesn't readily incorporate into hair.

Only about 60% of heavy daily smokers are detected via hair testing. So depending on the collection method (how close they cut to scalp) and how fast your hair grows the heavy use period could be detected or completely missed.
