Hi, I have a plumbing question. I live in a condo with concrete floors. I want to replace an existing bathtub with a new one that has a drain in a different location - it will be about 4" from existing trap.

I am not allowed to bust up the concrete or move the existing trap. Is there away to do this without raising the tub up significantly? It is a 20" deep tub. Raising it a 1/2 to 1" wouldn't be terrible. However, raising it 2" would make it really tough to get in and out of. This is a tub/shower combo and will mostly be used as a shower. I can't find a shallower tub in the size that I am looking for.

Look into an OFFSET tub drain... may be exactly what you are looking for here... ;) Only a local plumbing supply store will have these (or online). See image below.

Where do you get a drain like that on-line?

You can purchase it here at wayfair.com:

You can probably pick it up a little cheaper at a local plumbing supply store.

Also note, that with some of the new PVC tub overflow assemblies you can usually build an offset into the drain and make that work for MUCH cheaper.
