Did your install contract call for a new line set?

Did you ask the installer to show you the instillation instructions that said he could use a 5/8 OD line set instead of 3/4 OD line set?

That unit being a R-410 machine needs the 3/4 OD line set to meet the minimum SEER requirements of the Federal Government.and the manufacturer which is Bryant who makes the Payne brand. IF THE UNIT IS 2 TON (24,000 BTU OR LARGER). See attachment Page 3 Table 1 which shows the tubing size that should be used PERIOD.

You did not state the size of your unit but it would have to be a small 1 and 1/2 ton or (18,000 BTU) to use the 5/8 OD tube.

You should have at least a 20 degree differential (TD) between the discharge and return air. You only have 3. Something is wrong with that picture.

You might have got a bad installer but I am not there to see and test the job. Good luck and what size is your unit outside or give complete model number and serial number for outside unit.

One more thing. R-410A is very picky about moisture and this is why I do not reuse old line sets. Part of your systems problems might be moisture in the system and driers will need to be added and system tested for proper operation if that is the case.
