I came to US in Aug 2005. I'm still in F1 status.

I don't know much about taxes and I used taxact to file my returns last year and this year.

Now after being somewhat enlightened after coming to this site, I'm really concerned. Obviously, I have not been filing correct. So I just want to know if I can still make amends for last years as well as this years returns.

You can amend prior year tax returns using 1040X. Have you already filed this year's return? Which state are you in?

Yes I have already filed this years tax too.

I'm in Texas.

You will need to file an amended return for both. Based on the facts in your post, it seems like you should probably be filing as a NR.

If you are from India, it is likely your will owe no additional tax. You just need to amend to get your non-resident alien status reinstated.
