If you have a broken or leaking pipe, would the water pressure lower?

If you water pressure lowered from a leak it would have to be a very bad leak and you would know within an hour or so exactly what was happening and would probably know where the leak was in your system. Now if the pipe was broken you might have a drop in pressure but still the same would apply, you would be flooded in just a few minutes.

How old is your home and what material are the pipes made of? Copper? Plastic or galvanized? We need more details. Where do you see a pressure drop? The whole house? One fixture? Have you checked your water meter for meter creep with the little pointer when the house is shut down and nothing is being used? Talk to us! Regards, Tom

If you had a leak or a broken pipe you may hear a rushing noise constantly. It would depend on the amount of water loss as to whether you would notice a pressure drop.
