    Creating a CV
    Hi my name is Sue,
I am at the moment unemployed and finding it very difficult to find work, as is everyone. The problem I have is that my CV does show I have been in a lot of employment with a number short lived i.e. 6 months. What really has annoyed me is that I am being critisised by agencies and some employers who are suspect of me have so many short lived jobs. I have made mistakes with jobs in my life, either aimed too high, I have even been bullied by adults in my place of work, hence leaving because HR were rubbish at sorting it out.

I feel my cv is going to stop me getting a job ever, because of the work history, of which I cannot change other than lie and I don't want to do that.

Any suggestions? And jumping off a cliff is not an option (I still do have a sense of humour through all this, but deep down its not funny.

    Yours

    Sue x

I've helped people with resumes since 1985 and suggest you make a functional (skills-based) resume, not a chronological one. That way you can show off what you can do, not where you have been.

Thank you. I will try that. Ive been told most employers need to know dates from and to, is that not the case then.

Ive been close to giving up looking for work altogether. I am good at interviews and what I say, I have just felt the next stage when they see my cv, they frown upon it.

You have been a great help.

    Thanks
    Sue
