Would any person who carries great knowledge with technological advancement, especially within the subject of; Dog invisible fencing systems? Our home has the BX cable through-out, and no one can figure out how the signal is being carried through-out different areas of the house. For example, collars will give signal near the copper pipes in the older heaters in the rooms. I noticed that some of the BX cable touches the copper piping?

This Company has been giving us a hard time since we upgraded to their new system, but their tech people don't seem to know what they are doing and I can not trust the collars on my dogs. The newer collars are apparently much more advanced (as they say) and sensitive to program more capabilities.

Please HELP!!

I am no expert here on dog fence system. There may be someone else here that does know. Could you provide the make and model number of what you have? It may help get you an answer once we see how these work.

The BX cable is grounded, as is any copper piping, all intentionally, where the cable touches the pipe or not.

Clearly, the wire embedded in the ground is a radio frequency antenna transmitting a signal to the receiver the dog wears.


Can it be simple as the wire, in the ground, is automatically connected to the grounded metal sheathing of the inside electrical cable, and the copper water pipes, which most likely come into the home underground.

The signal, that should be limited, somehow, to a short distance from the embedded wire, is now easily transmitted to all grounded surfaces in the home.

I did a quick search, cannot find this problem mentioned elsewhere. So I have to assume this is an issue with either the installation of the fence, and/or, the homes grounding system.

I suggest you have an electrician inspect the grounding system of the home, and meet with the fence installer to see how the fence is installed, and if there is some reason the system is causing the signal to be thruout the home.

I doubt your home, thou BX is usually found in older homes rather than new, is the only home with BX and this fence.
