My refrigerator recently leaked on my floor in my kitchen
My refrigerator recently leaked on my floor in my kitchen and yes, there is carpet in there! Not my choice, moved in with it there. Under the Berber carpet there is indoor outdoor carpet with that black padding on top of the sub flooring. We filed a claim with LG. to do so we had to get estimated for replacing the carpet and were told that the carpet must be replaced due to that black padding getting wet. They said legally it had to be replaced. Is this true? LG is saying they don't replace carpet, they just pay for it to get clean. They said if I can find out if this legally needs to be replaced, they will. NEVER BUY AN LG PRODUCT! They are terrible company to deal with!
    Thanks so much!

LG products are pretty good as far as I know, every appliance, TV is LG; they are only responsible for the malfunctioning the appliance, not what is under it.

Assuming that the black padding is the backing of the indoor/outdoor. Very strange that indoor/outdoor carpeting would need to be replaced should it get wet. Not much good for outdoor use.

Who is they? Why would society pass a law saying that you had to replace something?

The people at LG told me if it was any other type of flooring they would replace it. Carpet was not my choice! Just there when I moved in. Why discriminate against carpet?

FYI, having carpet over carpet is not a healthy situation. All kinds of bugs can live in between the 2 carpets and can cause irritation that cannot be explained. Surprised the carpet cleaner did not tell u this.
