    Lowering child support
I have two teenagers. Their father just started paying child support 2 years ago. Now he wants to lower it. He is claiming that he has a child older than my two, a one year old and one on the way. What are his chances of getting the order of support lowered?

The best person to ask is your child support case worker. If she/he dsn't know, ask to speak to their supervisor. Workers in child support should know the laws and know what the father can and can't do.

Does he have a child support order on the first child by the other person ?

And is that child support order issued first ( normally the oldest court order will be considered the first one to get paid)

But if he is merely asking to pay less because he is raising another family he is dreaming)

There are formulas used to determine how much he needs to pay, which starts normally with how much he earns and based on state min and things.

But he does have a legal right to request a lower payment from the court
