I Can Probably Stump You... I'm Looking For a Movie From the Late 70's or Early 80's.
    Hi.
I watched this movie when I was really young, and I haven't been able to find it since.
And I'm very sorry, but all I remember are a few fragments.
I think it was set in England - out in the country. It had two small kids in it - a brother and sister.
I mainly just remember the ending. I think they were hiding from someone behind a wagon or cart because they kept peeking around it.
I seem to recall them wearing dark - maybe dark blue - overcoats, so it must have been a sort of "winter" type movie. The boy stands up and starts to run away while the sister is telling him to come back. She asks him where he is going, and he says something about looking for the end of the rainbow - or following the rainbow.
I'm sorry, but that's all I can remember, and this has been bugging me for a very long time, as you can see.
Anyway. Any help would be appreciated. :o)
    Thank you.

This is a wild, wild guess, and it's earlier than your estimate. So, I'm ready to strike out.

    Flight of the Doves (1971)
    Starring Jack Wild
    IMDb synopsis:
While fleeing across the Irish countryside, two orphans are pursued by their villainous uncle, a master of disguises.

    Hi!
I wasn't sure if I was ever going to get a response. (LoL!) It's been so long since I posted it.
Unfortunately, the movie isn't on Netflix or Amazon Instant Video. So I'm going to have to buy it. But, at least, it's on DVD & it's not expensive - huge bonuses! :o)
Thank you so much for helping me.
Even if this movie isn't the right one, it sounds pretty cool.
But I'm betting it is the one I've been seeking.
    Thank you again! :o)

That would be amazing if it is! To be honest, every time I read your description, I thought of this movie, which I haven't seen since the Seventies. I figured that it was worth a try. I could find only the scene of them in the city, but I have memories of them in the country. I'd love to see it again.

I'm not much for buying DVDs, but I might do it for this one.

    Good luck=}
