What can be wrong if I can't get second and third on a 1961 Valiant automatic gearbox

Try dropping and cleaning the pan and magnet, replacing the filter, adjusting the bands with a torque wrench, and refilling with Dexron ATF. If this does not solve the problem, the ATX likely needs rebuilding.

Hi, The gearbox was rebuilt and radiator flushed but I don't get second and third gear when the car is set in drive. Seems like it keeps on kicking back to first gear. Does anybody have advice on getting second and third??
