I was parked and my check engine light came on what do I need to do being a female I have no idea

Not knowing exactly, my guess would be to have the vehicle checked by an auto technician that can plug into the computer and determine what is the problem.

Year, make, model, engine?

You need to check for codes. If the car was made in 1996 or later, attach a code reader to the data link connector under the dash. Many auto parts stores will often do this for free.
