I recently had a Frigidaire dishwasher installed. When the unit is not running there is some water seeping into the dishwasher from the top where water comes in. Frigidaire says that this is caused because the drain hose was not looped over the top of the dishwasher. My installer says that this is not true because he installed an airgap on the sink and does not need to loop the drain over the dishwasher? Does anyone know who is right and what could be causing my problem?

The air gap should break the siphon effect that could cause water to be pulled back inside the washer. If your installer did not follow the manufacturers instructions ask him where the water is coming from. By the way, how much water are we talking about and does it eventually stop seeping?

It is not much water. Basically the top of the dishwasher has a dew like coating of water that does eventually begin dripping. The installer seems to think that it is a problem with the dishwasher.

That could just be condensation after the drying cycle. When the machine finishes its dry cycle try cracking open the door a hair and let the steam out.

The drain should be at the bottom. If the inlet valve is at the top, and it is coming in the top by it, the valve could be bad or just have a little dirt in it. If that is the problem, it should keep seeping long after the dishwasher cools off. It might respond to closing the stop to the dishwasher.
