Hi I am trying to find the name of a movie that I watched on TV when I was young. It was on the Disney afternoon movie weekend show in country Victoria Australia. It was about a young girl who didn't want to attend school, she may have been deaf? Or didn't speak? She lived in an old shack with her grandfather. She had a pet bird and I vividly remember her bird being stoned/ killed by a group of young bully boys near a carousel at a carnival. This movie scared the crap out of me when I was younger and would love to see it again to watch it with an adult prospective.

OMG I just watched a bit of it on you tube... that's it... I can't believe after all these years I can watch it again... I am actually in tears... that movie tore at my heart strings as a child and have remembered it off and on for the last 20 odd years... thank you soooo much you will never get how much this means to me...
