I would like to use the Moen 3330 valve for a typical tub / shower using the diverter on the tub filler spout to divert water to the shower head. I would to use the diverter on the 3330 valve to divert water to a separate hand held shower. Will this valve work in this application and how do I connect the piping?

I don't see how diverting the flow at the spout would give you pressure at the shower head. However, since the hand held shower head is in the closed position and won't flow until used why not tee off the shower raiser? You can install a inline stop on the shower arm. (see image) to close the shower head when using the hand held. This could also be done with a less expensive shower valve using a diverter spout. And your thoughts? Good luck, Tom
