Mildew smell in second floor shower
Our house is approximately 12 years old. In our 2nd-floor master bathroom, we have a two person shower stall (man-made marble with glass doors) For the last few weeks, we have been smelling a musty/mildew odor---seems to be coming from the drain, but not really easy to pin-point. We have stripped and re-grouted, cleaned the drain and still have the smell... Help! Short of tearing out this huge shower and having to have it replaced or tiled over, I don't know what else to do. Can't afford several thousand dollars for a new shower at this point in time, but worried about the smell and possible health hazards due to mold/mildew.

Try this, Snake the shower line to remove hair and grease. Next pour a quart of bleach down the drain and let it set over night. Next morning flush with a largen pan of boiling water. Smell all gone? Let me know. Good luck, Tom
