    GE Side-by-side refrigerator/ice maker problem
I have a GE model GSHS5KGW or it's a GSHS3KGX side-by-side refrigerator and all of the sudden it won't make ice cubes and at the same time I can't seem to regulate the temperature inside the frig. The refrigerator temp keeps going down and the water just sits there inside the ice cube tray. It started after we had a heat wave--over 95 degrees for 5 days in a row--I don't have a manual so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your coils are dirty and if you don't clean them it will burn up the compressor. Remove the front kick plate and rear panel while you unplug unit. Spray coils down with spray cleaner and wash out with sprayer on water hose. You won't need much water. Vacuum up with wet-vac, and clean out defrost water tray. Here is a manual: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8010163/GE_...ide_refrig.pdf
You could also have other problems, but you cannot know until you clean it which should be done every six months.
