I recently bought a new Hoover washer and my washing is never clean and does not smell fresh. My old washer was fine until the motor went. I notice that when I remove the cothes from the drum ,they are boiling hot. My old washer rinsed in cold water. Is this correct please?

2. what is the temp setting for rinse ? Every washer I have every had in 20 years always had a temp selction for wash and rinse temp

You must have the hot and cold water hoses switched. Also, if the hoses have screens in them make sure they are clean. The screens keep trash from getting in the water valves and stopping them from working. Cold water seems to rinse better than hot water. If it's not draining properly your clothes will not get rinsed well, either. I would guess that the stale smell is coming from poor draining. After you get the water supply hoses straightened out run a cycle with nothing in the machine and watch how well it is draining and if water is left in tub before it spins. I am not familiar with this brand, but it should have an access to clean out the drain and pump. If you have a front loading machine you can expect poor service and a short lifespan from my experience. Most have quite a few manufacturing defects like using metal combinations of aluminum and stainless steel which cause a galvanic reaction that corrodes the aluminum very rapidly. You can search YouTube and find examples of this where two-year old machines have been totally destroyed from this. You would think that engineers would know better than to use such combinations.
