    Hello Arbab,

I am Greek and my husband is Arab and we went through the same procedure here in UK about a year ago. Whar your wife will have to do-and this is because the status of your Visa will depend on your wife-is that she has to submit to the Home Office the marriage certificate, your daughter's birth certificate as well as bank statements - hers and yours - that you will be able to survive in this country without the help of the government (benefits, as they called in UK). She will find the form that she has to complete in the Home Office website, print it, complete it and post everything to the Home Office. Then she will make an invitation for you and when you go to the British Consulate in Pakistan you will receive a spouse Visa. Once you come to UK, you will have to apply for residence permit so you will have to have all the above certificates along with your wife's passport sent to the Home Office - the new application can be found in the Home Office website. The first time you get residence permit for 6 months to a year, then you will have to apply again and you will take one for 5 years-given the fact that your prove that you are capable of surviving by yourself.

    Good luck,
    Katerina.

If your spouse is British National and she is in Pakistan there would be no issues in order to apply for a spouse visa. You will have to apply for a Spouse visa and you need following documents in order to get it:

    Translated Marriage Document (Nikahnama)
British Passport of your Spouse and your Daughter
    Your own Passport
Proofs of your sources of income (Bank Statement, Income Tax returns)
Declaration from your spouse that she would financially support you whilst residing in UK
