Gripes, grumbles, and grievances (by ScottGem)
It is an accepted fashion standard that vertical stripes have a slimming effect and horizontal stripes make one look heavier. So can anyone explain to me why men's polo shirts that have a striped pattern have horizontal stripes??
Since many companies now have a business casual dress code and such a dress code usually requires a collared shirt for men, polo shirts are a popular style. It's a style I like, but when it comes to finding shirts that I like, it's become almost impossible. Either such shirts are a solid color or they have horizontal striping!
Solid colors are boring! I would prefer shirts with some pattern, but horizontal striping does nothing for my body type. So I put it to you who design men's clothing:
Give us men who have an issue with body types a break!
Give us some fashions we can live with!
Let's hear it for vertical stripes!
