    Typical twin hcg levels?
I have a strong history of fraternal twins in my family. I have 8 sets on my dad's side and 1 set on my mom's side (my brothers). I have been told by my doctor that they are unable to determine whether I am having one or two at this time due to the following:

4 weeks, 4 days pregnant HCG detected at 400
Ultrasound at 5 weeks, 4 days pregnant indicated one positive sac, unclear as to whether another sac was present, will retest in two weeks. (Reason suggested: one may be a few days younger and not developed enough to show up completely on ultrasound at this time)
5 weeks, 4 days pregnant HCG detected at 12,433

I wish I didn't have to wait two weeks to confirm the number that I am expecting, any advice is appreciated.

Also, I was prescribed Augmentin for a mild bacteria that showed up in my urine sample. The nurse said that the antibiotic is being prescribed to prevent a possible UTI, I know that augmentin is generally believed to be safe during pregnancy, but it would be nice for someone else to reiterate that.

    Thanks
