My children were taken from me and I want to know that if there dad was in jail does he have to sign the papers

because my children were put up for adoption and my oldest son was put through some ungodly things I gave them a beautiful little boy now he's a very angry man

We need more details here. Why are the children being put up for adoption and by whom? Why where they taken from you? ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

And it sounds like this was years and years ago.

A person in jail is not required to ever sign anything, rights may be taken away by court order, they way yours were taken

And so what ? Even if it was not proper or illegal, if it happened years and years ago, there is little you can do now.
