My ex boyfriend borrowed money from me to get his narrowboat up to living standard, we went and bought things together I paid for them, idiot I no. He said he would pay me back when his child maintenance stopped in June 2012. I stayed there most of the time, spending sometimes at my home. On 22nd of January he had far too much to drink he grabbed me by the throat banged my head several times while attacking my face. I did not call the police in case they breatherlized me. I can not afford to lose my license. Will I be able to get my money back

Why would you lose your license if you were not driving, unless you are on probation from some other driving issue? But no police report, it never happened, also it has nothing to do with him owing you money, in fact it happening may help you lose the case, you were not looking to get paid back till this happened, now you want the money, may make the court wonder if it was a loan or a gift.

So you sue him in court, tell your story, he tells his story and the judge decides.
