    Hello G:

The statute of limitations is the time between a crime is discovered and when charges are levied. In YOUR case, charges were levied IMMEDIATELY, so the statute doesn't apply..

If you didn't go to court as ordered, a warrant was issued and it will last forever.

From the time charges are levied to the length of time to proceed, is there not a time when it is to long to proceed

    Hello again, G:

Maybe... If you can show that the state delayed the proceedings, then I think you have a case.. But, if you just didn't show up for the SCHEDULED proceedings, you can hardly blame the state.

Most of the web searches seemed to give somewhat different dates, but it would appear about 1 year. There appears to be issues if this was a first or additional offense.

But from a practical side of this, if you were not charged within the first 30 days, it really is not going to happen, unless this is part of a on going issue in connection to some other cases.

    Hello Padre:

There are SOME crimes, that when discovered, the cops don't know who the perp is.. Drunk driving isn't one of those.
