4 month old puppy wetting herself
    Hi
My female unspayed collie cross four month old puppy has started to wet herself when she is relaxed or asleep on the floor.
She is house trained, but has had a few mis'haps but I have put this down to her needing more house training.
Could anyone let me know if this is something to worry about, or is it a puppy issue where she needs to train her bladder?
    Many thanks in advance

Has she been checked for a bladder infection or something wrong with her urinary system?

Not as yet as I have just noticed today, did wonder why she was slightly wet yesterday but put it down to her cleaning herself.
I have read that bladder infection is one reason, I was just wondering if there was anything else it could be

I'm a cat person :), and I know some of the dog people will be along throughout the day to give you more qualified responses. Please check back to see what anyone wrote. I always try to put myself in the animal's shoes (fur? Whiskers?) and if that were happening to me, what could it be.

I'm in agreement with WG, best to rule out physical issues such as bladder infection.
That being said, at 4 months old she will have mishaps, most dogs aren't fully trained until about 9-10 months old, some a little longer.
I would try walking her more often, the general feeling is that each month=1 hour of being able to hold it. So walk her about every 4 hours.
And lots of praise and "good girls" when she goes.

She goes out regularly for the back door is open and she is walked on a regular basis, plus she plays constantly with my 5 year old labby cross lurcher.
I am not that concerned with her little mistakes, just the self wetting thing when she is laying down relaxed or asleep. :S

All the more reason to rule out medical issues, and continue with the good training.

Our puppy is doing the same thing! She is 6 months old and fully potty trained but wetting herself when she is asleep. She did have a urinary tract infection a while back, but she was put on medicine for it and we thought it was cured. Taking her to the vet this week. Curious about what your vet said!
