    Changes to certificates
The name of the father on my birth certificate is not my real one, when I was born the father didn't have 2 sign if the couple were married, in Ireland you had to be separated a long time before divorce . My mam was an abandoned wife when she went out with my father, at the time my father was given the choice to be involved, my mother was happy 2 bring me up on her own, he couldn't be involved due 2 his parents. She put her husbands name on my cert so I would have the same as my siblings. Now years later I myself am married, I knew before I wed that my cert was wrong and it sickened me, but my real father never contacted me so there was no point changing it. Now I am in touch with my real father, I want his name on it instead, can this be done, and does that then effect my marriage cert

I strongly doubt it. You were born in Ireland? Contact the agency there which is responsible for birth certificates, but as I say, it's extremely doubtful.

I was born in Ireland, both parents on cert are Irish, biological father is Irish.

My marriage was an Irish Catholic wedding.
