It depends on the prosecutor your case gets assigned to, the judge who presides over it, where the case is tried, and whether it is your first offense. That being said, you should get a public defender in order to minimize the consequences. If you live in the U.S. and this is your first offense, you can expect either jail time (not to exceed 6 months), a fine, or both.
First it will go better if it is paid back before court.
You get the best lawyer you can and do a plea agreement, if lucky just probation and fines
Jail time - I don't see there are any guarantees. Between x days and x days, yes. A definite "Y" days. No. This is employee theft.
In Virginia I am reading $1000 or more is a maximum of 1 year in the penitentiary and/or a $1,000 fine - that's what I was referencing.
I'm not reading not more than 6 months.
